Breaking News – More price reductions

I told you last week about Sainsbury’s current “25% off when you buy six” deal but here is a quick update on a short term promotion at Majestic.

In England and Wales you need to buy a total of six bottles (mixed any way you like) to secure the new discounts but, in Scotland, the offer price can apply to single bottle purchases.

Here is my top tip from the promotion.

A classic Spanish grape moves east

We normally associate albarino with Iberia but this is a version from the Aude region of Southern France, made by the first producer to grow the variety in that country.

Enjoy, then, all that classic melon and greengage texture in 2015 Laurent Miquel Albariño (£8.66 – instead of £12.99 until 29 August – at Majestic and 13% abv) but here there is a saline edge to the savoury finish and an engaging pithiness to the freshness too.
